These states get an A+ for the best teaching jobs

There are many perks to being a teacher. Aside from shaping the minds of our youth, teachers also enjoy a well-defined career track and three major benefits (AKA June, July, and August).

While teaching is not necessarily known as a high-paying line of work—the national average salary for K-12 teachers is $54,897, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics—that may just depend on where one teaches.

Recently, personal finance site WalletHub schooled us in the highest-paying states for teachers, as well as the states with the most teaching jobs and highest rated school systems.

New York, Illinois, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania went to the head of the class in WalletHub’s rankings, but you can check out the rest of the winners below. See your state? Click the link to apply to teaching jobs in your area.
